About Katie Gray

Katie Gray is a writer, actress and singer-songwriter, following all of her dreams in New York City. An alumni of Marymount Manhattan College, she recently graduated with two Bachelor of Arts degrees. She double majored in Communications & Media Arts, and Business with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. She double minored in Journalism and Fashion Studies. As a student, she also attended and completed the Teen Vogue Fashion U. She graduated with an Associate in Arts degree from Lake Superior College in the spring of 2012. During her time there, she focused on her photography passion. That summer she made the big move to “The Big Apple.” A native of Wisconsin and Minnesota, she hails from the Lake Superior area, and currently resides in Brooklyn.

Passionate about literature and beat poetry, a coffee enthusiast, film buff and music aficionado. She has had jobs and internships with: Marie Claire, Fox News, 5W Public Relations, NY1 News, Bloomingdale’s flagship, Cumulus Media with radio stations NASH FM & PLJ, Tribeca Film Festival, New York & Company flagship store, nonprofit health and fitness organization Energy Up! with founder and celebrity personal trainer High Voltage AKA Kathie Dolgin, lia sophia jewelry advisor, and New York Fashion Week through the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Her gigs have spanned from being a fit model for Banana Republic to being a professional note taker for classes in college.

A New York City based freelance writer, celebrity interviewer, journalist, poet, photographer and reporter. Her work has been featured in a variety of print and online publications, varying in style and genre. Including publications: Brooklyn Reporter, Style D├ęcor & More, Cupid’s Pulse, Center for Communication, The Daily Meal, Amendo, The Brooklyn Daily Eagle, The Right Hairstyles, Bensonhurst Bean, and many more. Throughout college she was a staff writer on the school newspaper, The Monitor, and a national contributing writer for the collegiate site, Her Campus. Her poetry was also featured during school in the MMC Zine.

She’s studied acting technique at the iconic HB Studio in the Greenwich Village. She’s also studied music theory in the East Village through Alphabet City Music Workshops. Katie has also had vocal training with her voice coach, Norma Garbo. All of her life she has performed in choir, too.

Katie loves the music of Lana Del Rey and Bob Dylan, the films of Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino, and spending time with her family and friends. Hailing from the Midwest, she developed a fondness for lake life and a passion for her scenic nature photography early on. Katie is an avid reader, Dunkin’ Donuts connoisseur, creative visionary, foodie and self-proclaimed shopaholic. Her favorite novels are The Great Gatsby and Lolita, with much of her inspiration since childhood stemming from F. Scott Fitzgerald and Vladimir Nabokov.
